On Her Way to the Top!

Moramee has accomplished a great deal in her life, so far. She is more than determined to achieve more!

Moramee Das belongs to the North Eastern part of India (Assam) and has a double masters degree in English Literature and History from Guwahati University. She also has a diploma in creative writing in English. She is a free verse writer & her poems have been published in national and international magazines. Few of her poems have been translated into Spanish, Hungarian, and Azerbaijani languages. Apart from that, she is a Bharatnatyam dancer, a state level photographer, a taekwondo 2nd Dan Black belt. She is also a national level taekwondo, swimming, aquathlon & triathlon player. She made her state proud when she won a bronze medal in the 33rd National Games, Guwahati (2007). She also participated in the 35th National Games, Kerala (2015).

She was awarded ‘Best Athlete of the Year’ for the year 2008-09 & 2009-10, at the university level and the ‘Best Sportswoman of the Year,’ 2016 by the North-Eastern Police Academy. Besides that, she is a certified Advanced Adventure Scuba Diver (2014). She did her stint in mountaineering by completing her Basic Mountaineering Course from HMI, Darjeeling (2014), and survived the Nepal Earthquake en route Mt. Everest Base camp, in the year 2015. Currently, she is serving the Assam police as a Dy.Superintendent of Police (P), Assam Police Service in the Kokrajhar District, Assam. Very recently, she was selected to represent India in the ‘Baku Forum of Young Poetesses,’ in which the countries belonging to the ancient silk route, participated.

Her next ambition is to summit Mount Everest!
