Geetika Goyal

From Theorems to Theatre

Geetika grew up in a family of litterateurs and musicians. She felt that Gurgaon, a fast growing, concrete desert needed an oasis of fine arts. In 2009, she started an institute for visual and performing arts- Magic Creations for children and teenagers. She extended it to a unique group called Magic Creations Moms Theatre Group - Back to Childhood as she wanted to provide emotional empowerment to mothers.

Geetika grew up in a family of litterateurs and musicians. She chose Physics as her subject only to return to her love for arts. She gave up her master’s degree from one of the most prestigious colleges of the country to return to her passion for painting and writing. Moving around the country with her husband, she exhibited her work through various prestigious art galleries. When she landed up in Gurgaon, she felt that this fast growing, concrete desert needed an oasis of fine arts. She took up the responsibility and, in 2009, started an institute for visual and performing arts- Magic Creations. Since she knew no one in the city, she collected her first few contacts from the entry registers at the swimming pool and skating class of her own residential society. Her work gained attention and the journey, since then, has been rewarding.

While she was working with young children and teenagers, she realized that mothers were merely running from pole to post to give exposure to the kids. They did not have any time to think about their own passions. She thought, “Does women empowerment only mean financial empowerment of suppressed women? Why can’t it define the very internal joy of a woman when she spends a few moments with herself? What about EE - the emotional empowerment? After all, a happy Mom can only make a happy home, and happy homes nurture good human beings.” These thoughts made her restless. “What could make a woman happy?” she asked herself and got the answer- “Some time for herself, when she is herself but gets to play a different character each day. What could be more refreshing than this…?”

So, she launched a unique group called Magic Creations Moms Theatre Group - Back to Childhood. Not much understood in the beginning, the group gained great popularity after its first production was staged. The group has grown in strength, fame and productions. Having performed in various cities like Delhi, Jaipur and Gurgaon, Geetika has been getting calls from moms around the country to start similar chapters in their cities. Magic Creations Moms Theatre Group has moms as young as 70 years too, the grandmoms, who are redefining their worth and living their life to the fullest.

As a Transformational Coach, she custom designs her coaching sessions for women entrepreneurs, millennial and corporates, to emotionally empower them, resulting in better efficiency.

Be yourself and keep the child in you alive- is her mantra for life. She is now an active participant of the Moms Theatre Group, painter, awarded author and now an actor. She wonderfully weaves all these skills into her.

From Theorems to Theatre has been an enriching journey!
