The Inspirational Dean

Seema is a Dean at the IIBS Noida, a counsellor for suicide prevention and a social activist. This passionate humanitarian has founded a NGO to educate, empower and enable the underprivileged. Currently, her mission is to spread kindness and inspire them.

A Post-Graduate in Marketing Management from IMT Ghaziabad and fashion from IIFT South Ex Delhi, Prof. Seema Mishra has a rich experience of 19 years with an exposure to the various facets of corporate, academics and social responsibility. Having worked with several reputed institutes in Delhi like NCR -IIFT, IMMIT, IM&D, NIMT Business School and Wigan & Leigh, she is currently working as the Dean of the International Institute of Business Studies (IIBS) Noida Campus.

Seema has been an active panellist with the Institute of Charted Psychologist and Global Development Foundation, and also of the Chapter Head of MTC Global (Noida) - a knowledge sharing group a pioneer effort for 360 degree development of management academicians and Federation of India Professional Trainers, working for the development of human (intellectual) capital necessary to sustain and social well-being.

Her pragmatic real world approach ensures that she understands and responds to the real pressures and issues facing management. Being educated in many parts of India with different cultures has inculcated in her the quality of adaptability. She enjoys the company of children, and has a very good sense of humour. She believes in the overall goodness of life and therefore lives every single moment of life.

Prof. Seema Mishra is an epitome of beauty, strength, and intelligence. Across various walks of life Prof. Mishra has proven that she has earned this reputation very deservingly. She is very focused and dedicated for social upliftment and community development. As a Counsellor for suicide prevention and social activists, she has played a significant role in saving many distressed lives and is constantly working for women welfare issues in college, corporate and community. She has worked with close to half a million youngsters in the past 19 years and has raised awareness campaign against social evils.

She is a passionate humanitarian born in a traditional Brahmin family, which has had a major impact on her life. Her grandfather was a freedom fighter and her father was a self-made successful corporate professional and senior lawyer. Her father instilled a strong social conscience, and taught her to be independent minded as she is the first woman in her family to acquire professional qualification and decided to work and contribute knowledge to society.

She has formed the Develop India Foundation, an NGO in 2014 with motto to educate, empower and enable underprivileged. Set up with a definite vision, strategy and operations, Develop India Foundation has pioneered numerous programmers for inclusive growth, in the areas of education, Women and Child Welfare, environment, capacity building of civil society. Prof. Mishra works towards motivating and sensitizing the community by regularly organizing ShareNCare Spreading Smiles drives across India to gift used clothes, winter wear, footwear, toys and stationery to underprivileged Women and Kids (successfully completed 36 distribution drives).

She has not only served her institutions with full conviction, but has also made whole-hearted contributions to many social causes. She regularly organizes gender equality sessions and self-defence training for women in Delhi NCR. She has been recognized and received various awards for her service to the society from various organizations and NGOs including the International Human Rights.

Prof. Mishra has led various initiatives on CSR in higher education in Delhi University to sensitize the youth for individual social responsibility. Currently, the Develop India Foundation is providing free education as remedial classes and distribution of books and stationery to underprivileged school students of Delhi NCR under project Vidyanjali. With Project Vidyanjali DIF volunteers from college students to housewives are conducting regular free education to underprivileged kids around their locality.

She has helped build a strong FB community of INSPIRING KIND INDIAN (11000 + growing members) highlighting the real kind deeds of humanity to sensitize and inspire others to #BeKindAndHelpOthers.

In the early part of her journey, she was entrusted to do things that challenged her so she could push the boundaries. Today, she has found a sense of purpose that comes from wanting to have a positive impact on society by spreading kindness with the belief “We Rise by Lifting Others.”
