Quality Education

Seema set up the first Computer Training Centre of her town in the tribal region of Mewar, in 1996. Dr. Seema’s work in various fields has been widely appreciated in various forums. She has also been honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award conferred by former Governor of Rajasthan Dr. Pratibha Patil (Ex President of India).

When Dr. Seema Singh came to Udaipur about 25 years ago, she noticed that this tribal region was backward in ICT education. She thought of setting up an institution exclusively to provide Computer Education to the students of this tribal region. Toying with the need of starting proficiency and skill upgradation in computer related Software and Hardware courses, she set up the first Computer Training Centre of her town in the tribal region of Mewar, in 1996. This was the first authorized training centre of CMC, a Government of India enterprise in 1996, on a small campus of about 200 sq. ft. Within a year of its launching, a need was felt to start formal courses in computer education; as such, she came up with a study centre of DOEACC Society, New Delhi in 1997.

Looking at the great demand for certified computer professionals, she set up Aishwarya College of Education in 1999, affiliated to Makhan Lal Chaturvedi National University, Bhopal. The dynamic social worker and professional, Dr. Seema Singh set up the Aishwarya College of Education Sansthan - a society registered under the Registration of Society Act 1958, vide No Udaipur/119 in the year 2003, which has now celebrated 22 years of its existence. The Sansthan is now offering courses in higher education through various institutions in the areas of Management, Computer Science, Arts, Commerce, Science, Elementary, and Higher School Education with an annual intake of more than 750 students, with more than 1500 students on the campus. They have provided jobs to more than 109 persons. All the institutions are affiliated to state owned universities. The Flagship College is accredited by NAAC, and approved by UGC under Sections 2f and 12b. This is the only college affiliated to Mohanlal Sukhadia University, in the town, to get this honour.

She did her post graduation in Computer Science from the University of Rajasthan. She moved to Udaipur with a motive to serve the society in bringing higher and modern quality education within reach of everyone in the town. Looking at the available opportunities for higher education, she decided to cater the local communities of the society through education. If worked, the town of Udaipur could serve the tribal and rural students of adjoining five districts of Udaipur. She decided to start value addition and professional education courses. The Aishwarya Group of Institutions has planned to shift to its coming up a new campus on allotted land of 20,000 sq. m.

To help research scholars to publicize their work - a precondition for submitting the PhD thesis, she started the publication of three journals besides organizing 15 national and international conferences and seminars. A prolific writer, Dr. Seema has authored over 21 books on various subjects such as Basic Computer Literacy, Internet Use, Value Education, and others.

Dr. Seema’s work in various fields has been widely appreciated in various forums. A personality no less than former President of India, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, during his visit to her institutions to speak on ‘Emerging Women’ said, “I am happy that the college has the vision of providing quality education with excellence and developing the holistic personality of its student who will have an aptitude to serve the society. I congratulate the pioneers both, the present and past who have created and nurtured this institution and have set a robust system of education in this region.” She has also been honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award conferred by former Governor of Rajasthan Dr. Pratibha Patil (Ex President of India). Equally concerned for the upliftment of women, she has instituted a National Women Achiever Award; the first award was given to five women. She has signed a MoU with few industries for providing skill training.

An avid reader herself, Dr. Seema has brought up her two children, Aishwarya and Neelmadhav, who have been educated in national and international institutions of repute. Despite her husband being a senior administrative officer and moving out on posting outside town she continued to discharge her duties as a wife, a mother and a social worker. Dr. Seema has always been advising the women to focus more on the overall development of their family, especially girl child.

She is a member of Juvenile Judiciary Board for last five years besides State Commissioner of Hindustan Scout and Guides, Udaipur. Looking to her contribution to the education sector, she has an honour of receiving appreciation and commendation by leading national and state organizations. She is active International Rotarian and serving the Rotary District through various posts and involved in social service.

Her Vision: Being concerned about the fitness of young boys and girls, her vision is to develop a cricket academy for the training of under 19 students of this region, thinking that youths have great stamina and potential to become good sportsmen/women.
